On the 18th September 2014 a big fire was started in the Cuvry camp and the area was evicted. On the 22nd September the bulldozers started to destroy everything.
We managed to get the authorization to disassemble the house and save it as art artifact.
The eviction happened in the same time of a project with HAU theater , as part of discuvry, in the frame of the event “Treffpunkte“. The first plan was to create workshops and events in the camp, but after its destruction we move the house and rebuild half of it in front of the venue of HAU 3, Berlin.
The project was a collaboration between more artists: Raul Walch, with a neon art piece and the creation of a “curvy memorial archive” in a container; Masaru Iwai, who realized a video documentation of the eviction; Rikiya Yamakawa, assistant and performer.
The project was curated by Lutz Henke.
